Latest Exhibition Hastings Art Forum with South Coast Artists

Title: “ Still Standing”

Yes I am, thankfully fighting the fight, soldiering on with ideas that challenge and inspire in equal measures. Going back to my fundamental way of working which is to be in the moment, be bold, take risks, understand that there is ‘ no right way of doing it’, and playing helps me to enjoy the creative process. So why the fight you may ask?
Perhaps it is something to do with my artistic journey that started on foundation where I was encouraged to be experimental as well as develop my skills, and then work out my visual language which doesn’t come easy. I am quite a fuss pot about what I am happy with looking at ultimately, hence the multiple deliberations.
My latest piece proudly on display at the Hastings Art Forum on the South coast of England can be seen in the flesh for two weeks from the 8th April 2022.
There is something a little perverse in art making when I am not exactly bringing in a small fortune. However the desire lingers on. To resist beautiful oil paper and paints and not work with them seems sheer folly. This art reminds me of the Art Brut movement, the shapes satisfy me and, arguably as Daffyd Jones commented “ it needs loosening up all the more”. In my next one Daffyd! I certainly put the above principles into practice, for m it is a triumph.
