Coastal Currents
Title: “ kite Flyer”
Medium: Acrylic Screen Print/Collage
Beautiful blue sky, being in the moment, tugging at the kite strings, what could be better?
In the studio
Working on an unstretched canvas, from a local tree I admired during the bluebell season.
Same view, different day
Here is the same view again painted rather threateningly don’t you agree? There is a sharper touch with the paint brush.
View from a parked car
Not far from me I can park and sit in my car where it is more comfortable to paint. I love this spot, I look forward to the leaves changing colour.
What to leave out?
In my garden, painting outside during the beginning of Autumn, I started putting in areas of colour that I then went on to take out.
Artist’s statement
My process sometimes begins with a response to something tangible, it may be a piece of machinery, wooden chairs, something organic, or a thought, or feeling.
Frank Notes
So to start with, my Dad was called Cyril. He didn’t like the name so the first part of his surname was chosen for his first name. Frank. This name says it all.
